Dmitriy Mendeleev

In 1855, Mendeleev graduated with honors and began teaching first at the gymnasium of Simferopol, then at Odessa (he was sent to the south for health amendment at the request of the university to the Ministry of Education). A year later, at the University of the City on the Neva, he defended his master’s thesis, in 1857 presented another qualifying work and began lecturing students in chemistry as an assistant professor.
