Leonardo da Vinci
Italian painter, sculptor, architect, engineer, technician, scientist, mathematician, anatomist, botanist, musician, philosopher of the High Renaissance era. Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 in the town of Vinci, near Florence. His father, Señor, Messer Piero da Vinci, was a rich notary, as were the four previous generations of his ancestors. When Leonardo was born, he was about 25 years old. Piero da Vinci died at 77 years old (in 1504), during his life he had four wives and was the father of ten sons and two daughters (the last child was born when he was 75 years old). Continue reading
Moses
Moses is worshiped by all the major modern religions of the world, and Judaism, and Christianity, and Islam. He is the greatest prophet of the Supreme Testament, the liberator of the Jewish people from Egyptian slavery. Moses was a lawgiver, a judge, a man through whom the Lord passed on his basic 10 commandments. Continue reading
William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare is a man whom we repeat every day, quoting and not even suspecting that it was he who invented this phrase or expression. It is amazing, remember how often you say something like this: “not all is gold that glitters”, “pitiful sight”, “food of the gods”, “all is well that ends well”. All this is Shakespeare. And of course, the most famous phrase of the maestro: “to be or not to be”. Egil Aarvik, a representative of the Nobel Prize Committee, once said that Shakespeare would be the only person who could claim to receive the Nobel Prize more than once. Continue reading
